In Spring 2013 I was elected to represent the library on the Faculty Senate and automatically became a member of the Faculty Senate Committee on Committees. That year the Committee on Committees began work on an overhaul of shared governance at the university by drafting an overall proposal. The committee presented the proposal several times throughout the Fall semester, and in Spring 2014 I became the chair of the Committee on Committees. In this role I led a series of small presentations on the proposal around campus and eventually brought the proposal to a successful vote. The Summer and Fall 2014 were spent making the proposal a concrete plan, which included overhauling the University Standing Committee structure, the Faculty Senate, and the Faculty Senate and Faculty bylaws. During this time the committee met several times with the Provost and various campus constituencies to build support for the plan. The plan was passed by the faculty in May 2015. After voting on several amendments to the plan throughout the Fall 2015 semester, the plan was finalized and sent to the Provost in December 2015.

I served as chair and was an active member of the Librarian’s Personnel Advisory Committee (LPAC) at the UCF Libraries. This committee This committee handled all personnel issues for the UCF librarians including appointment of initial rank, mentoring junior faculty for promotion, and facilitating the promotion process for all librarian ranks. In my various roles in LPAC I routinely met with library and university administrators to discuss personnel and work related matters as they pertained to UCF Librarians. During my time as chair, I helped restructure the committee, its makeup, and duties giving it a more prominent role in activities throughout the library. This required convincing over 30 faculty librarians and the library’s administration this new course for LPAC was beneficial to the library.
While at UCF I worked with faculty and administrators across the campus in the creation of university wide policies. I was part of a task force to create a process for the promotion of Instructors and Lecturers at the University of Central Florida. This work involved regular meetings to draft guidelines, criteria, and procedures for promoting Instructors and Lecturers at the university.
