Schley’s Bonsai held their Spring Festival this past weekend, and it was a hoot. I picked up two new pots, one of which I used to re-plant my jade plant.
I also picked up a new Fukien tea tree to replace the one that so rudely died on me. I re-planted it in the old Fukien’s pot.
The real gem of the festival was the cypress class I took. I walked away with a pretty sweet looking tree. Apparently I am should carve the dead wood at the top of the tree. I will practice a lot before I try that.
I then decided to spend the rest of the weekend working on my other trees. I removed the wire from my older juniper and from my Barbados cherry tree, which has a lot of blooms right now, and did some light trimming.
Next up, trimming and re-wiring my baby juniper. This is the one that got it all started.
